PowerFlex 527 — the Rockwell catalogue explained

The PowerFlex 527 (25C-series) is part of Rockwell Automation’s PowerFlex AC drive family, with kW ratings spanning 0.4 to 22 kW. All drives in this series share common firmware, common Studio 5000 AOPs, and compact machine drive form factors suitable for panel-mount integration.

Integration with Rockwell Logix controllers

Every PowerFlex 527 drive is recognised in Studio 5000 Logix Designer v24+ via the pre-bundled PowerFlex AOP. Drives appear in the I/O Configuration tree under EtherNet/IP, with commanded speed, actual speed, fault word, and I/O status mapped into controller tags without custom Modbus or CIP parsing. CIP Motion integration allows coordinated-motion applications with Kinetix servos on the same EtherNet/IP segment.

Safety — Safe Torque Off

Safe Torque Off (STO) is standard on every PowerFlex 527 drive, certified to SIL-3 per IEC 61800-5-2 and PLe per ISO 13849. STO wires directly to a GuardLogix safety-output module (1756-OB16S, 1734-OB8S) — no intermediary safety relay required.

Configured entirely inside Studio 5000 — no separate drive-programming tool required.
