Single-channel vs multi-parameter — which to choose

Specify single-channel transmitters (IDWQ-1000 or IDWQ-2000) when each parameter has its own field-mounted controller — the typical layout for distributed wastewater plants and multi-zone water utilities. The IDWQ-1000 is the bare-bones unit with a 3-inch LCD and one 4–20 mA output. The IDWQ-2000 adds a larger 4-inch display, dual analog outputs (one for the primary measurement, one for temperature compensation or alarm), and both RS485 and RS232 communication.

Specify the multi-parameter IDWQ-3000 when consolidating 4 to 8 sensors into a single panel-mount touchscreen — typical for compact treatment skids, OEM water-treatment package plants, and centralised plant rooms. Each channel is independently configurable for pH, conductivity, DO, turbidity, free chlorine, ORP, or other Modbus-output sensors.

Modbus RTU integration

All three controllers expose Modbus RTU registers for sensor readings, alarm state, and calibration status. Documented register maps available on request — direct integration into Allen-Bradley CompactLogix, Siemens S7-1200/1500, Schneider Modicon, or any other Modbus-capable PLC or SCADA platform.

Australian compliance

Controllers used in drinking-water service align with AS/NZS 4020:2018 (products in contact with drinking water). Wastewater EPA-reporting installations meet state-EPA documentation requirements when paired with documented calibration logs.
