Online Residual Chlorine Analyzer — DPD or Amperometric
The InstroDirect IDOA-FCL Residual Chlorine Online Analyzer is a continuous online residual chlorine analyzer with two method options: DPD colorimetric (reagent-based, regulatory-grade accuracy) or amperometric (reagent-free, low-maintenance). Both provide continuous data on RS485 Modbus for drinking water compliance, WWTP UV/chlorine polishing step control, and cooling water biofilm management.

- Integrates with the InstroDirect Free Chlorine Monitoring Panel for a complete multi-parameter solution
- AU-stocked DPD reagents and amperometric electrodes
- Annual service contract options include reagent top-ups and calibration
- Alarm output can trigger chlorinator dosing or SCADA alerts
Installation, Commissioning & Service
Sample line at 100 mL/min from the distribution main or reservoir sample tap. 240 VAC power, RS485 Modbus link. InstroDirect handles on-site commissioning, first calibration, and SCADA integration. Consider pairing with the IDFCP-1 Free Chlorine Panel for combined compliance monitoring.
Frequently Asked Questions
Free, combined, or total chlorine — what is the difference?
Free chlorine (HOCl + OCl-) is the active disinfectant. Combined chlorine (chloramines) forms when chlorine reacts with ammonia — still active but weaker. Total = free + combined. Specify which you need when ordering; the analyzer ships calibrated for that method.
Is the amperometric version reagent-free?
Yes for the measurement itself. The amperometric electrode eventually consumes its electrolyte (12–18 months) and the membrane is a consumable every 6–12 months. Both stocked in Brisbane.
