Product details
Compact Inline 2-Electrode Conductivity Sensor — Threaded Stainless
The InstroDirect IDC-2W-SS-C Compact Stainless 2-Electrode Conductivity Sensor is a short-body, two-electrode conductivity probe designed for inline measurement in clean water circuits — RO/DI systems, boiler make-up, cooling water, and polishing loops. 316 stainless body with an integrated Pt1000 temperature sensor and a compact threaded process mount for retrofit into existing sample lines.

Typical Australian Applications
- RO / DI permeate monitoring
- Boiler feedwater make-up
- Cooling tower blow-down control
- Potable water quality checks
- OEM skid integration
Why Integrators Choose the IDC-2W-SS-C
- Compact form factor fits retrofit installations without re-piping
- 2-electrode design is the industry standard for low-to-mid EC (<20 mS/cm)
- Pt1000 temperature compensation built in — accurate readings across thermal cycles
- Graphite electrodes resist scaling and organic fouling
- Modbus or 4–20 mA lets you connect to any PLC or datalogger
Installation & Calibration Notes
Install horizontally or vertically in a tee or pipe boss with the full electrode submerged. Calibrate two-point using 1413 µS/cm and 12.88 mS/cm KCl standards every 3–6 months. Clean electrodes with dilute hydrochloric acid or deionised water to remove scaling.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between 2-electrode and 4-electrode probes?
2-electrode is standard for low-to-mid conductivity (<20 mS/cm). 4-electrode handles higher ranges and is less affected by fouling. For RO, boiler, or cooling water this 2-electrode probe is the right pick.
Can I use this with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs?
Yes. Choose the RS485 Modbus variant for digital integration or the 4–20 mA variant for analog inputs. Both are standard on AB CompactLogix, Siemens S7-1200/1500, and Schneider M221/M580.
How often does it need calibration?
Every 3–6 months in typical clean water service. Harsh or scaling-prone media may need monthly. InstroDirect provides on-site calibration across QLD, NSW, and VIC.
