Hex-Body 2-Electrode Conductivity Sensor with PG Cable Gland

The InstroDirect IDC-2W-SS-H Hex-Body Stainless 2-Electrode Conductivity Sensor is a heavy-duty two-electrode conductivity probe with a solid 316 stainless hex body and PG cable gland for panel-mounted industrial installations. Rated to 100 °C and 10 bar, it suits process water, cooling loops, and boiler feedwater where vibration and thermal cycling are routine.

Installation & Calibration Notes

Pipe boss welded or threaded to 3/4″ NPT or G3/4. Torque with a spanner to 25 Nm — do not over-tighten.

What is the maximum cable run length on RS485?

Up to 1000 m on shielded twisted-pair cable at 9600 bps, and up to 300 m at 115200 bps. For longer runs use a Modbus TCP gateway.

Can the cable be cut or spliced?

We do not recommend field splicing RS485 shielded cable — it degrades signal integrity. Order the cable length you need (5 m, 10 m, 20 m, or 50 m).

Is this rated for drinking water contact?

The 316 stainless and FKM materials are WRAS-equivalent grade. For AU drinking water compliance, request the AS/NZS 4020 test statement with your order.
