The InstroDirect IDC-M12-SS M12 Digital Stainless 2-Electrode Conductivity Sensor is a compact M12-connector digital conductivity probe with a 316 stainless body, designed for plug-and-play installation into modern PLC systems with M12 A-coded I/O. Zero wiring screws, zero cable gland fussing — screw the M12 connector on and the probe streams calibrated Modbus RTU data to your controller.

Installation & Calibration Notes

Screw the probe into a 1/2″ NPT boss and the M12 cable onto the connector hand-tight. Terminate the RS485 trunk with a 120 ohm resistor at each end. Power on and query default slave ID 0x01 at 9600 bps 8N1.

What M12 cable do I need?

Any M12 5-pin A-coded cable with twisted pairs. InstroDirect stocks 2 m, 5 m, and 10 m variants. Generic industrial M12 cables from Phoenix Contact, Turck, or Murr will also work.

Can I daisy-chain multiple sensors?

Yes — up to 32 sensors on a single RS485 Modbus RTU trunk. Each probe is individually addressable (slave ID configurable 1–247).
